Sustained wind from the south is a fact of life in Johnson County. It is also a fact that most fittings do not account for.
A ball launched high spends more time in the air and gets pushed around. A ball launched a degree or two lower spends less time up there and holds its line.
What we do
In the Driver Program we compare your normal launch with a lower one. If distance falls by three yards and dispersion tightens, that is usually worth it.
We call it the wind-day comparison. Most players choose the lower launch.
